10 things you need to do to be
1. Follow Your Passion:
Passion is the key to success. If you want to succeed you
need to identify and follow your passion. If you follow your passion you will
put all the energy and drive to make it happen. If you follow your passion you
will be happy, you will also become an expert in that field and more
opportunities will come to you.
2. Give Up Sleep:
“Some of you want to
sleep more than you want to be successful.”- Eric Thomas if you want to
succeed you might need to give up sleep. Sleeping is for billionaires. Until I
make by billion I will then sleep. Most successful people have four hours or
less. You need to put everything into your passion and work hard to achieve it.
For you to be successful you need to go out there and
networking. ‘Its not about what you know its about who you know. Most successful people you know they have
contacts and links; this is how people get successful. You need to get out there
and meet people in your field. If you aspire to be a doctor or entrepreneur you
need to network with them.
4. Make noise:
There is no way you’re going to be successful if you just
keep your ideas to yourself. You need to tell everyone what you are up to. Its
important to make noise and tell everyone, especially if you have just started
a business, making noise will bring you more clients and opportunities.
5. Have a successful mindset:
I spoke at a school in London about my success story and one
student said to me the reason why most people are successful is because they’re
lucky. I disagree with this success is not about being lucky everyone has the
potential to be successful. What makes us different from successful people is
the way we think. Success is about the mind set you think positively you will
be successful. Creating a successful
mindset is the first step to everything; it will power your success. The right mindset will fire up your
creativity and it will inspire you when the world doubts your genius.
6. Write goals down:
The secret to accomplishing what matters most to you is
committing your goals to writing. This is important because it will force you
to clarify what you want. Writing goals down will force you to select something
specific and also decide what you want. Writing goals down will motivate you to
take action. Every Sunday I write my weekly goals and I always achieve them
because I have written them down and I always review them. Writing them down
will also provoke you to make the next point.
7. Surround yourself with people you aspire to be:
“Surround yourself with
people who are going to lift you higher” If you hang around or surround
yourself with people you aspire to be you will be successful and get to their
level. Jim Rohn said ‘ You’re the average of the five people you spend most of
the time with.’ Success is contagious so it is important if you wan to be
successful you need to find the right circles.
8. Stop procrastinating:
If you want to be successful you need to stop procrastinating.
I used to procrastinate all the time, but I found ways to help me stop. One way
you can use to stop procrastinating is breaking your work into little steps.
This makes it easier to do and you will be motivated to achieve the steps because
they are not too big. Part of the reason why we procrastinate is because
subconsciously we find the work too overwhelming for us. Another way you can
stop is by changing the environment; I used to do my work at home and always
getting distracted with the TV, Internet and my phone. Now if I am doing my
business work I do it in my office or a business lounge. Find the right
environment were they is not much distraction.
9. Develop yourself:
Learning never finish and personal development is important
when you want to be successful. If you
want to develop yourself first thing is to do a personal SWOT analysis, you
need to analyze you strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats. This will help
you look at an area that needs developing and look at actions needed to be
taken to develop those skills.
Turn your negative into
For you to be successful you need to be a positive thinker.
Negative situation to arise but successful people turn negative into a
positive. This can be done by evaluating
the situation and looking at possible ways that can be used to turn it into a
positive. If you’re not confident you don’t give up on your dreams or passion,
you look at ways you can gain your confidence this could be by getting a coach
or attending training. Remember success is about the mindset.

5 tips to turn your passion
Passion is doing what you
love and loving what you do. Your passion should be your alarm clock and it
should be the reason you wake up in the morning.
Business is my passion. Business is my alarm clock it wakes me up in the
morning feeling excited. What is your passion? What is your alarm clock? I am
going to share with you tips to turn your passion into success. The first step is to identify what you are
passionate about and then follow the following steps.
1. Start by Tapping into Your
It’s there, whether you
recognize it or not. We’re all passionate about something – even if
it doesn’t strike us as job or career worthy. Think about all of the
things that get you fired up, excited, eager to act…write those things
down. Ask close others to help add to the list. Sit with that paper
for a few days. Add notes, details, and illustrations. Fill the
page with things you love and are good at. Those are the best clues
you’re going to get. You may need help to do this next part, but
challenge yourself to translate what’s on that page into ways you might be able
to channel those abilities or passions into some form of work.
Know that there is always an option:
When you’re passionate about something you will
put everything into it to find a way. Passion bring drive and determination to
never give up. Never tell yourself you’re
stuck. You’re not. You have more options than you can even dream
of. Challenge yourself to uncover 5 new opportunities for you this week,
then another five next week. Brainstorm 10 or 20 with your friends or
family if you’re really inspired. See the road ahead of you as an open one to
do with as you wish. Get excited about having so many
options. That energy will help you tremendously as you set out to pursue
the ones that rise to the top of your list.
3. Surround yourself with like-minded people:
Networking is the key to success. You can never be
successful on your own, you will need to surround yourself with like-minded
people. Find people who you share the same passion with and support each other
to make things happen. For you to make your passion a success It’s not about
what you know its about who you know. It
is important to surround yourself with
people who take their passion and work seriously, but not themselves, those who
work hard and play hard.
4. Opportunity comes in many forms. Not just jobs.
Don’t get stuck on finding a
job. Or starting a business for that matter. There are lots of
opportunities in between that can enable you to turn your passion into
success. I like to call this range the Complete Opportunity
Spectrum. Sure, you can get a job doing X, but what about a project, a
consulting opportunity, an internship, licensing a business, becoming a franchisee,
partnering up with an organization, doing some temp work. Break away from
the “get a job” mentality. There are lots of ways to make money doing
just about anything…if you’re creative enough.
5. What Makes
You Different Makes You Special
You don’t necessarily need to
be an expert in your area of passion. You don’t need to have years of
experience under your belt to do something with it either. That can
come. Take whatever it is that makes you different, unique, special,
interesting, quirky or uncommon and turn that into a fascinating story of why
you’re pursuing your passion. Share it with everyone you can.
Being just like everyone else is boring. Having some interesting story to
tell on how you ended up in this new venture, pursuit or industry will make
people curious about you.

Guides & TipsPosted by Blessing Maregere Wed, November 27, 2013 13:51:21
It's been 2 years now since I started public speaking, people who went
to school with me or grew up with me knew I was very shy, quiet and I would
never speak in front of a few people. Who knew I would be standing in front of
over 100 people delivering a speech. I now own the stage and enjoy public
In November 2013, I had the amazing opportunity of delivering my first
ever TEDx talk. From the months of preparation to the delivery of my speech, it
was an amazing experience.
I had done many public speeches before, but speaking at TEDx was
completely different. There was a lot of excitement around the event and there
was good reason for it. The process from preparing and delivering my talk
taught me a lot about public speaking I didn’t know before. With support from a
professional Coach Paul from TEdx Youth Croydon I managed to deliver the speech
to over 100 delegates title 'Let Your Passion Be Your Alarm Clock.
In this article, I share 5 things I learned about public speaking from
delivering a TEDx talk:
your material. Pick a topic you are interested in and have experience
in. It is important to have experience in what you want to talk about. Speaking
in front of people shows that you are an expert in that topic. So make sure you
do enough research and show how confident you are in the topic. My
talk was about how we should make passion our alarm clock I have experience in
this because my passion is my alarm clock and I was sharing my message to
inspire people to follow their passion so they can be successful. You need to
be able to answer questions with confidence if people ask you.
Practice. Practice! Rehearse out loud with all equipment you plan on
using. Revise as necessary. Work to control filler words; Practice, pause and
breathe. Practice with a timer and allow time for the unexpected. Practise
makes perfect. I was very shy and would never want to speak in front of people.
But I wanted to share my story and inspire people so I had to become a public
speaker and practise has helped me a lot and I am now a confident public
the audience. It is important to do some research around the audience you
will be speaking at. You can’t cater for everyone the same. If its young people
they will like something that is funny and creative and older people will want
something that is different. So you should always research and know your
audience before your speech.
4. Relax: start
by addressing the audience. It buys you time and calms your nerves. Pause,
smile and count to three before saying anything. When you make an
interesting point you should pause for a second and let the audience remember
what you said. Make a point and give eye contact and it shows you engaging with
apologize for any nervousness or problem – the audience probably never
noticed it. So if you make a mistake no one will know just carry on as normal.

to find your passion:
Everyone wants to be
successful but do we really know what success is about? Most people might say
success is about having loads of money or nice cars. A lot of money and nice
cars are the benefits of success. The true success is doing something that you
are passionate about.
Passion is doing what you love and loving what you
do. Your passion should be your alarm clock and it should be the reason you
wake up in the morning. Passion is something that can keep you awake at night;
sometime I have only 4 hours sleep because I am excited about passion that it
keeps me awake.
Business is my passion. Business is my alarm clock
it wakes me up in the morning feeling excited. What is your passion? What is
your alarm clock? I am going to share with you steps you can use to find your
Steps to Find Your Passion
1. Look at your book collection,
magazines, DVDs, CDs, and bank statements. Notice any themes?
What subjects are
you constantly gravitating toward? What are you already spending your time,
money, and energy on? What thread(s) have been recurring in your life again and
As best as you can,
check in with your heart and physical body, not your head. Do you feel
excitement (or perhaps even a little fear) when you imagine a certain topic or
possibility? Those are all good signs. That’s why it’s important to shift
your attention into your heart and your physical body when exploring these
questions. Your heart and physical body contain wisdom far beyond the capacity
of your mind.
The threads in your
life can support you identifying your passion. If you enjoy music or science or
can’t spend a day without involving yourself in a subject then that tell you it’s
your passion. If you enjoy science and experiments then a career in the science
sector is for you. If you enjoy selling and coming up with ideas then you could
be an entrepreneur. Most people fail in life because they go for something they
2. What do you love to talk about,
learn about, and/or teach others about?
This question is
important and useful. You need to be honest with yourself. Don’t edit yourself here. With nearly seven
billion people on the planet, chances are that there’s a market out there
hungry for information, products, or resources on your topic or even business wanting
to employ you to work on something that you love. If you’re having trouble coming up with
ideas, ask close friends and family (the honest ones) what you never seem to
shut up about. My passion is business I talk, dream, and teach business. Ask
your friends and family what you mostly talk about. That’s your passion and you
should explore it further.
Building your life around what you love is something you’ll never regret.
your passion for what you do that will give you the drive, commitment, and
energy necessary to create any amount of success and fulfilment you desire, and
you’ll have an extraordinary time while you do it. Business is my passion and it’s
my baby I will do anything for it and put all my energy because I love it and
it doesn’t feel like work.
Now you have identified your passion I guess you’re
feeling excited and full of energy but want to know how you turn your passion
into a success. My next blog will be about how to turn your passion into a

InspirationPosted by Blessing Maregere Fri, November 22, 2013 02:07:09On Saturday 16th of November I was invited to speak at Tedx Youth in
Croydon London. Tedx is part of an universal Tedx youth Day which is a
series of events happening in 42 countries. It's a platform for young
people to share ideas and inspire young people.
My speech was titled 'Let your passion be your alarm clock'. I
believe that for you to be successful you need to have passion for
something. What is passion? Passion is doing what you love and loving what
you do. When you don't need an alarm clock to wake you up in the
morning that's when you know you're on the road to success. What is
success? Some of you might say success is about having a lot of money or
nice cars... But the true success is about enjoying what you're doing.
Your passion needs to wake you up in the morning.
I believe I am successful because I am doing what I am passionate about.
Business is my alarm clock. What is your alarm clock? Everyone
is different and everyone will have different passion. Don't listen to
your parents or friends who tell you what to do with your future. This
is your future you need to create it.
'Let your passion be your alarm clock' will be a national campaign
launching January 2014 on a mission to inspire young people to follow
their passion. Your passion should be your alarm clock. I will be
touring round schools, universities and events inspiring young people to
follow their passion if you would like to book me as a speaker please
